From the purchase of a small cart to a goat that is feeding an entire family, from building dams, wells and arable fields to vocational training, from school meals to nutritional support - these are our stories. Join us on an immersive journey into the lives of our two small communities in a remote region of Mauritania.
Through women's eyes
The Storytellers project saw 20 women taking part in a photography training course. Through their eyes, they tell us how steps to build resilience to streghthen the resistance to shocks have changed their village.

Scaling-up Resilience in the Sahel: A Story of People, Partnerships and Practice
The Mauritanian stories of Moustapha, Zeynabou and Djenaba do not stand alone. Across the G5 Sahel countries (Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Niger) thousands of similar stories are waiting to be told. Since 2018, WFP has built resilience for food security and nutrition in these countries, through an integrated set of activities - combining Food for Assets, school feeding, nutrition, capacity strengthening and seasonal support. The report reveals the results from the field in facts and figures.
